In 2019, Tonneson + Co CEO, Richard E. Mastrocola, signed the CEO Action Pledge for Diversity and Inclusion. With this pledge, Tonneson + Co affirmed its commitment to cultivating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment that fosters awareness, growth, community, and collaboration.

Our DEI Committee

Our DEI Committee’s mission is to increase awareness and understanding about diversity, equity, and inclusion and empower staff to improve DEI within and outside the firm.

Areas of focus for the committee include:

Education and training for our staff
  • Frequent webinars and speakers on topics such as:
    • Unconscious bias, microaggressions, and allyship
    • The CROWN Act
Communicating our mission outside of the firm
  • Speaking on various podcasts and panels about DEI
  • Commitment to social responsibility through partnerships with local organizations and charities
  • Leader of GGI DEI Special Interest Group
Recruiting diverse talent
  • Speaking at high schools and colleges to share career opportunities in the accounting industry
Expanding diversity in our circles of influence
  • Referrals, vendors, and clients
