How Will You Make an Impact? Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
As a Tax Manager, you will:
- Manage multiple client engagements involving tax compliance and consulting services, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Develop comprehensive client service plans, collaborating with engagement teams to exceed client expectations.
- Review and prepare complex tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Conduct tax research on various technical issues to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, providing proactive insights and solutions to client tax issues and concerns.
- Lead and mentor staff, providing training, feedback, and support to develop their technical skills and career growth.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency to add value to client services.
- Maintain and cultivate strong client relationships, acting as a liaison between the client, partner, and professional staff.
- Assist with business development efforts, including identifying opportunities for expanding services to existing clients and engaging in proposal development.
- Participate in special projects as assigned to support strategic firm initiatives.
How Will You Get Here? Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in public accounting, with demonstrated growth in tax engagement complexity and management responsibilities.
- CPA certification required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations.
- Strong research and analytical skills for identifying and addressing tax issues.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities to handle multiple engagements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship management skills.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff to foster a collaborative team environment.
