About The Role

We are looking for a seasoned Accounting Manager with a strong background in financial management to join our team. This high energy position oversees the firm’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and billing and managing an administrative team in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment. The candidate will lead and support the execution of business activities with the administrators and will work closely with the executive team on various projects and daily assignments. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong communication, organizational, technical, and procedural skills, coupled with the ability to multitask effectively and prioritize numerous projects in a dynamic work environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Overseeing daily operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, billing, and office management functions.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Processing weekly payroll ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support HR functions for Time Reporting, onboarding and offboarding.
  • Supervising and mentoring staff, providing training and professional development opportunities, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries and financial statement preparation.
  • Assist in maintaining databases to be current and accurate.
  • Proactively produce billing and time reporting data and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancement and implement strategies to streamline workflows and increase efficiency within the department.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with senior management and colleagues across all levels of the firm to foster a cohesive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • 10+ years in an accounting and managerial capacity is required.
  • Advanced proficiency with all Microsoft applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive presence and strong leadership abilities to effectively guide and motivate team members toward achieving organizational goals.
  • Display a high level of motivation and a desire for personal and professional advancement, actively seeking opportunities for self- improvement and career progression within Tonneson.
  • Strong attention to detail with precise follow-through.
